EXPERIENCE:

Freelance Photojournalist, SIPA Press, New York and Paris, 2001 - 2003.

Photograph news, features, politics, celebrity, travel and human interest assignments for national and international publications such as Time, Newsweek, US News and World Report, Marie Claire, Ladies Home Journal, Red Book magazines and Scientific American. The September 11th, 2001 Attack in New York City was the last major assignment.

Staff Photographer II, FLORIDA TODAY / USA TODAY, Gannett Newspapers, Melbourne, Florida, 1993 - 2001.

Photograph general assignments on film and digital format. Assignments included aerial, portrait, studio and documentary photography. Also local news, state news, news features, spot news, local and national sports, business, space technology, investigative reports, special projects and arts and entertainment. Cover the Troubles in Northern Ireland and the Kosovo Crisis as special assignments.

Freelance Photojournalist, ASSOCIATED PRESS, Miami, Florida, 1993.

Photograph general and sports assignments for wire transmissions and distribution to magazines, newspapers, television and other worldwide media outlets. Major assignments included the Haitian Crisis.

Freelance Photojournalist, PICTURE GROUP INC., Photo Agency, Providence, Rhode Island, 1991 - 1993.

Photograph national and international news assignments for publications worldwide. Cover the War in Bosnia and the Palestinian and Israeli conflict as major assignments.

· Computer skills unlimited with Mac and PC, web design with Microsoft FrontPage 2000.
· Digital Photography electronic darkroom with Adobe Photoshop.
· Scan and processes all formats in color reversal, color negative and black and white film.
· Bilingual, Spanish with knowledge of Arabic, Italian, French and Serbo-Croatian.

AWARDS:

2002 - The prestigious Cornel Capa award for excellence and distinguished photography by the International Center of Photography in New York City for September 11th, 2001 attacks.

1997 - 1st place for “Best Full Page Newspaper Layout” by the Central Florida Press Club, for the terrorist bombing in Saudi Arabia against US Air Force personnel - one year later.

1996 - 1st place for “Best News Photography” by the Central Florida Press Club for the photograph of the grieving wife of a Brevard County Sheriff's Department deputy killed in the line of duty.

1996 - Associated Press "Best Photograph for the Month of July" for the same photo as above.

1996- 1st place for “Best Sports Photography” by the Central Florida Press Club for the photograph of a European football player being tackled during a college match.

1996- National Press Photographers Association, (NPPA) 2nd place for “Best Sports Photography” on region 6 for the same football player photograph.

1994 - Gannett "Best Newspaper of the Year" Award.

1993 - " Best of Gannett Gold Medal Award" for journalism excellence.
